'Study Study', 2011
Vinyl text on wall
The artist Emma Smith commissioned me to develop a new work marking the beginning of a series of research days hosted in her live/work studio in ACME Fire Station, Bromley by Bow, London. The emphasis of the commission was to somehow mark this shift from a private to public space. The work is a two metre long print of a typed Skype conversation we had whilst both sat in the very same room, now permanently affixed to the wall of the space. The conversation focussed on how Emma saw the space and establishing what activities and behaviour she thought would be possible.
