Not Knowing, 2020
- Candles

In 2002, whilst in studios directly on Deptford High Street in South East London, I bought a single zero candle in a party and gift card shop, without really knowing why. It hang on a nail in my studio for some years, as a reminder of thoghts about concrete absence, immaterility, infinite celebration, the void, lack, loss.

As is often the case it can take a while before you realise an idea has significance, or legs, but at some point I decided to look for more variations and start building up a collection. Searching out any variations available on the international marketplace.

These are then hung on nails on my studio wall in an ever growing cluster. This cluster is then recreated whenever exhibited.
